"Moving Together" is a community engagement program that brings master African & Diaspora Artists together for dance and drumming workshops. The workshops will be followed by a showcase performance by the Cheza Nami Ensemble and other Guest artists and their students. Help ensure the community can connect with the art of Dance and Drum by volunteering with CounterPulse!
Position 1: Door Greeter
The Door Greeter kindly welcomes audience members into the space and is the first line of Covid-19 Safety checks
Check for proof of vaccination and matching ID OR negative covid-19 test within 2 days at the door.
Help assure all people are wearing face-coverings as they enter the building and keep them on at all times.
Provide general information about the space: bathrooms, house entrance and audience accessibility options
Stay aware of activity in front alcove
Post-show: Scan risers for discarded paper or trash post-performance
Position 2: Box Office
The box office volunteer ensures will-call patrons check-in, sells walk-up tickets and concessions, and keeps track of how many people are in attendance
When Box Opens: Cross out door list names for guests who bought tickets online & sell tickets using Square for card or cash.
Sell and pour concessions.
Report total tally of ticket and concession sales to House Manager
Logistical Details:
CounterPulse is fully ADA accessible. All volunteers must provide proof of vaccination or a negative covid-19 test from within 48 hours of their shift. Street parking is limited in the area. CounterPulse is located 2 blocks away from Powell St BART/Muni Station. Volunteers are welcome to bring bicycles into the building and lock them up in the basement.
