TurnOut’s Volunteer Captains Program

TurnOut’s Volunteer Captains Program

TurnOut’s Volunteer Captains Program is a way for volunteers to get more involved in Queer and Trans volunteer and recruitment events. It is also a great way to meet other passionate Queer and Trans volunteers in the community!

The role of a Volunteer Captain is to provide guidance and support to TurnOut’s volunteers on site at an event. Volunteer Captains also attend events to recruit volunteers and mobilize the LGBTQIA+ community with TurnOut. The commitment involves completing a series of training videos and quizzes, attending our virtual monthly meetings, and attending one monthly volunteer or recruitment event in person.

Note: Folks who are interested in this program will first attend an informational meeting to learn more & decide if this program is a good fit for them. No commitments are required if you attend an informational meeting. Informational meetings happen on the same day as Captains meetings from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.
