Organization Description:

Legend has it that on Thanksgiving in 1974, drag performer Tessie Spink received several turkeys and was inspired to cook and serve them to the local Tenderloin residents. It was a gesture that showed the San Francisco Community that no matter who you were; there was someone who cared. Now, 5 decades later, the board of the Tenderloin Tessie organization are still carrying on that legacy by serving free holiday meals to the Tenderloin community.
