Queer Muslim Open-Mic Night

Salam and join Activate Oakland for a night of creativity, community, and celebration at Understory Oakland. This event is meant to be a space for LGBTQ+ Muslims and allies to share their music, poetry, drag, and more. Come express yourself, connect with others, and support diverse voices in a welcoming environment under the Ramadan Moon.

As our Ummah is fighting for a free Falasteen, let's come together and hold space for our grief and our dreams for collective liberation. Please RSVP at bit.ly/queerramadan, where there will be a link for performers to sign up. They can't wait to see you there!

The first 50 arrivals will get FREE vegetarian + vegan iftar nibbles and chai! They will also have food available for purchase for the rest of the night, so come hungry! (veggie, vegan, GF).

We keep us safe! There will be community security volunteers. Please stay home if you are sick, and stay masked while not ingesting their delicious food.

They will have masks available for you to use. This event is FREE, with a zakat/suggested donation of $11! All proceeds will go to the Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity (MASGD). Please donate via Venmo: @hafsasfah or Cashapp: $zaraaa333.
