Help Openhouse in Section 8 Housing Assistance

Help Openhouse assist the community to access a life-changing housing opportunity! The San Francisco Housing Authority will open its waitlist for Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers at the end of October, offering applicants a chance to pay drastically reduced rent. They are hosting drop-in hours to help our seniors and the community as a whole with this online-only, 10-minute application. This volunteer opportunity is a direct, hands-on way to help our community access a transformative public service.

Volunteer dates are as follows: Wednesday, October 25th, Friday, October 27th, Wednesday, November 1st, and Friday, November 3rd.

They are offering four 2 hour shifts on each day. The shifts are from 9:30 am – 11:30 am, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Workstations and training will be provided. Volunteers must be able to navigate the internet, and have familiarity with online forms and applications.
