Generations 2024- Black LGBTQIA+ History Experiences
Generations Black LGBTIQQ History Experiences is a collaborative community event that highlights the historically important contributions of LGBTIQQ individuals from the African diaspora during February. Black History Month.
This year they will Honor Our Past by featuring an archive of more than 300 biographies of historically significant Black LGBTIQQ folks that celebrates and expands our knowledge of Black LGBTIQQ history. They are also Creating The Future by awarding current luminaires in the Bay Area who are paving a brighter future for LGBTIQQ folks of African descent.
These individuals are dedicated community members who are working hard to shape the future of our Black LGBTIQQ community.
They will have entertainment and food for the festive occasion.
They are also pleased to include a mini-ball exhibition, brought to you by Oakland To All. Come with your Afro-Futurism realness in full effect. You'll see incredible performers dip, dive and sashay as they work the runway. Audience members will also have a chance to compete for cash prizes in three categories.
VOLUNTEERS from CIIS can select a volunteer time block. Once you have registered, Preston Vargas, Director of the Center For Black & Indigenous Praxis, will contact you to on 2/20/24 to arrange logistics.
