Volunteer with Queens of the Castro (QOC)! Since 2011, QOC has been bringing drag to schools and universities throughout California. Their mission is to mentor, empower, support, and create safer spaces for LGBTQ+ youth ages 16 - 25.

Their achievements include:

  • Awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to LGBTQ+ youth in CA

  • Improved safety in schools for LGBTQ+ students in the Bay Area

  • Planned and implemented dozens of drag shows in CA

  • Educated teachers and students about gender and sexual identity

  • Supported the work of drag performers in CA

  • Connected LGBTQ+ youth with drag mentors

  • Partnered educators with drag artists to bring the JOY of drag into grade 6-12 classrooms

  • Recipient of Queer Studies SIG Dennis Carlson Community Activism Grant
