Volunteer to Support Queer Mental Health with the Pacific Center for Human Growth
Pacific Center for Human Growth aims to enhance the mental health and overall well-being of the LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC communities. Serving over 3,000 people a year, they provide culturally responsive therapy, peer to peer support groups, community outreach services, and facilitated workshops. As the only sliding scale mental health clinic for LGBTQIA+ and QTBIPOC people and their families in Alameda County, they rely on nearly 200 volunteers to provide continuous support. Pacific Center are seeking volunteers for a variety of roles!
Long Term Volunteer Roles:
Executive Assistant Volunteer: This is an opportunity for the right person to make a distinct and positive impact on Pacific Center operations. You will help with scheduling, Pacific Center-related errand running, emails, phone calls, and drafting policies and procedures under the oversight of the Executive Director.
Media Production Intern: You will help with fundraising, conducting community member interviews, and creating media content to be used for outreach materials and other campaigns.
Development Intern/Donor Database Assistant: You will manage the donor database, work with grant report scheduling and applications, as well as assist with city and county reporting.
Other Volunteer Roles:
Front Desk Volunteer: You will serve as the first point of contact between Pacific Center and the community. Volunteers answer the door and phone, respond to emails, assist in admin and facility tasks, and help provide resources to people that reach out to Pacific Center.
Outreach Team Volunteer: You will attend events around the Bay as representatives of Pacific Center to provide information and resources to the community. They participate in tabling and events staffing.
Requirements: Most positions require at least a 3-6 month commitment, completing a background check, and participating in training.
