Volunteer, Internship, & Ambassador Opportunities with Shanti Orange County

Shanti Orange County strengthens the health and wellbeing of their community through safe and affirming mental health care, wellness, and social services. Their vision is to create a world that celebrates diversity and empowers every individual to embrace their authentic self. They have a variety of volunteer opportunities open:

  1. Office Assistants

Their office volunteers help with a variety of tasks, including answering phones, making calls to clients, performing general administrative tasks, photocopying, faxing, conducting internet research, drafting correspondence and promotional materials and helping with special projects. Some office assistants also help with general light cleaning and up-keep of their agency.

2. Special Events

Their Special Event volunteers play an important part in the execution of fundraising events. Volunteers may help with a variety of tasks, including setting up, registering guests, meeting and greeting guests, assisting with silent and live auctions or raffles, handing out programs, and helping with event breakdown. Events include large annual fundraising events and smaller, on-going events such as educational seminars.

3. Shanti Ambassadors for Community Outreach: Outreach • Prevention • Advocacy

The Shanti Ambassadors are a group of trained volunteers that work to promote Shanti’s life-enhancing HIV/AIDS programs and services and tell the HIV/AIDS story to the greater Orange County community, by attending speaking engagements, health fairs and many other community activities. Please contact (949)452-0888 or admin@shantioc.org for more information about joining the Shanti Ambassadors.

4. Internships

Shanti Orange County offers undergraduate students internship positions throughout the year. Interns assist with the administration of all programs, services and events. Shanti serves as an internship site for UC Irvine, Cal State University Fullerton, Chapman University and Saddleback College. It’s a great way to gain valuable experience in the nonprofit sector while learning about HIV/AIDS.
